About

A modern oracle, inspired by an ancient landscape

Emerald Seer makes personal readings for reflection and curiosity. The flagship is a palm reading written from a photo of your own hand; alongside it sit a free Oracle, an archetype quiz, tarot, runes and dream readings.

We are based in Ireland and our imagery comes from here — stone, weather, hedgerow, and the tree-letters of Ogham. But we would rather tell you what is true than borrow authority from a past we cannot prove. So below, we separate what is historical, what is folklore, and what is ours.

Historical

  • Ogham is an alphabet used to write early Irish, mostly on standing stones from roughly the 4th to 7th centuries AD. Around 400 inscriptions survive, the great majority in Ireland — especially Kerry, Cork and Waterford — with others in Wales, Scotland and the Isle of Man.
  • The inscriptions are mostly personal names: "X son of Y". Ogham is read along the edge of the stone, usually from the bottom up.
  • Medieval Irish manuscripts (such as the Auraicept na nÉces) later gave each letter a name. Several are tree names — beith birch, dair oak, coll hazel, sail willow — though for some letters the tree link is uncertain even in those sources.
  • A medieval Irish tale, Tochmarc Étaíne, describes a druid carving Ogham on yew rods to find someone. It is a story, not a manual; it is one of very few written hints of Ogham used this way.

Folklore

  • Lone hawthorns are still treated as "fairy trees" in parts of Ireland and are often left uncut.
  • Rowan was widely kept as a protective tree in Irish and Scottish tradition, especially around May Eve (Bealtaine).
  • In the Fenian stories, Fionn mac Cumhaill gains wisdom from the Salmon of Knowledge, which had eaten hazelnuts — linking hazel with wisdom.

Ours — Emerald Seer’s modern interpretation

  • The eight tree archetypes, their personalities, and the idea that a palm or a quiz can point to one.
  • The palm readings themselves. They use the conventions of modern palmistry — a European tradition with older roots elsewhere, not a Celtic one — and our own voice. There is no evidence that the druids read palms, and we do not claim they did.
  • Tarot (a 15th-century Italian card game that became a divination tool in 18th-century France) and runes (a Germanic script) are offered as neighbouring traditions, not as Celtic ones.

How readings are made

Your palm reading is written by an AI model guided by Emerald Seer's own voice, symbolism and rules — including never inventing details it cannot see, never predicting events, and never touching health, money or legal questions. Every reading is checked for completeness and quality before you see it. AI is the tool; the reading is for you.
